P-34: Crocin Ameliorate The In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Mice Treated with Cyclophosphamide
Authors
Abstract:
Background Oxidative stress induced by cyclophosphamide (CP), as a chemotherapeutic agent, causes vulnerability of sperm and declining the fertility capacity. Then in this study the effect of crocin (saffron extract) on amelioration of these side effects was investigated. MaterialsAndMethods In this study 24 mice were divided in three groups (n=8). Control group received normal saline (0.2 ml/day, IP), CP group received cyclophosphamide (15 mg/kg/week, IP), and CP+Cr group received crocin (200 mg/ kg/day, IP) along with CP for 35 days. Then, the animals were euthanized for obtaining sperm from the tail of epididymis. After stimulation of ovulation in 72 female adult mice, oocytes were collected and transferred in HTF medium that contained BSA. Then, in vitro fertilization (IVF) was done with capacitated sperms. The rate of fertilization and primitive embryonic growth were evaluated for 120 hours. Results The results showed increase in fertilization, two cell embryos and blastocysts in CP+Cr Group in comparisonto those of CP group (P

P-74: Crocin Repopulate The Leydig and Sertoli Cells in Testis of Cyclophosphamide Treated Adult Mice
Background: Increases in the survival rate of men treated with chemotherapeutic drugs and their desire to have children precipitate concerns about the effects of these drugs on germ cells. This study performed to evaluation of protective effects of crocin in oxidative stress induced by cyclophosphamide (CP) on testis. Materials and Methods: Three groups (6 mice in each) of adult mice were used....
full textEvaluation of the Protective Effect of Crocin on the Development of Embryos from In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) in Busulphan-treated Mice
Background & Objective: Busulfan (BSF) besides the therapeutic effects, performs oxidative stress and decreasing fertilizing capacity. Therefore, the present study was aimed to evaluate the protective effects of Crocin, on in vitro fertilization (IVF) process in busolfan treated mice. Materials & Methods: In this study eighteen mature female mice (25g), were divided into 6 groups and treated fo...

objective: this study aimed to investigate the effects of royal jelly (rj) on catalase, total antioxidant capacity and embryo development in adult mice treated with oxymetholone (oxm). materials and methods: in this exprimental study, 32 male and 96 female adult naval medical research institute (nmri) mice (7-9 weeks of age) with a ratio of 1:3 for fertilization purposes were randomly divided i...
full textEffect of Taurine and Curcumin on In-Vitro Fertilization in NMRI Mice Treated with Acrylamide
Introduction: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of taurine and curcumin on in vitro fertilization (IVF) in female mice treated with acrylamideand and its effect on malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration and total antioxidant capacity (TAC). Methods: A total of 48 adult female NMRI mice were randomly divided into 6 groups, including control, curcumin 200 mg / kg, taurine 150 mg / kg...

full textProtective effect of ethyl pyruvate on testicular histology and fertilization potential in cyclophosphamide treated mice
In the present study, we aimed to address the use of ethyl pyruvate (EP) against the harmful effects of cyclophosphamide (CP) treatment. Thirty-nine adult male mice were divided into three groups including control group received normal saline [0.20 mL per day; intraperitoneally (IP)], CP group received CP (15.00 mg kg-1 per week, IP) and CP+EP group received EP (40.00 mg kg-1</s...
